Living in the House that Tenderness Built

A WORKSHOP WITH HEATHER PLETT

text – Spiral – this course – come back

In her free e-book, Heather Plett introduced us to The House That Tenderness Built. In this house, we learn to hold space for all of the emotions that make an appearance, and we don’t banish any to the basement. We also hold space for the exiled parts of ourselves – those parts we might have abandoned because they brought up too much pain or shame, or because they might not have been nurtured by our culture or family of origin. (If you haven’t yet gotten your free copy, you can find it here. You’ll also receive a link when you register for the workshop.)

In this house, Tenderness doesn’t put up with any bullying, gaslighting, or body-shaming and she nudges you to challenge and disrupt any system or environment where Tenderness is not honoured.

Heather wants to teach you how to develop your own Tenderness practice. In this 90 minute online workshop, she will provide you with tools, prompts, and guides that will help you to create an intentional practice that’s tailored to your own needs, preferences, and limitations. Leaning on the wisdom she’s gained from seven years of teaching people how to hold space for themselves and others, plus writing the book, The Art of Holding Space: A Practice of Love, Liberation, and Leadership, Heather will offer gentle, supportive guidance as you learn this new way of being with yourself. You’ll have an opportunity to practice in a safe-and-brave space together with other like-minded people, and you’ll have a chance to engage in conversation about the practice.

One of the components of the workshop will be a guided meditation, and after the workshop, you’ll receive a recording of that guided meditation to use whenever you wish.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, February 12th. It will be offered in two time slots (10 a.m. central and 7 p.m. central) to accommodate our international audience. Register for the time slot of your choice and you’ll be sent a Zoom link to join. The sessions will be recorded, so if life gets in the way and you miss it, you’ll receive a recording.

The price for the 90 minute workshop is $35 CAD. There is also an equity price of $15 CAD available, for anyone who is financially under-resourced for any reason (no explanations needed – just choose that option).
