Love Letters
For Those Who Hold Space
FREE VIDEO WORKSHOPS
“It takes courage to show up in a way that allows us to hold space for another person. It takes courage to hold them in their messy liminal space. It takes courage simply to be with the mess when much of the world is wired for productivity and shininess.” – Heather Plett, The Art of Holding Space
Sometimes this work of holding space is exhausting, overwhelming, and discouraging. We understand that, and that’s why we’ve created these little gifts for you, to encourage and support you and to remind you that you are not alone. Each of the following videos is a mini-workshop on one of the concepts we teach at the Centre for Holding Space.
While they each target different groups of people who may hold space in different ways (health care workers, teachers, parents, leaders, therapists, coaches, activists, learners, and church leaders), they all include teachings that anyone who holds space will benefit from.
Watch one or watch them all. Share them with your colleagues and friends. Use them to start conversations at your staff meetings or community circles. Pass them around as love letters to let others who hold space know you’re with them in these challenging complex times. If these workshops inspire you and you want to deepen your understanding, we encourage you to register for the Holding Space Foundation Program.
NOTE: All videos have sub-titles. To turn them on, click on the “CC” icon on the bottom right of the video.
NOTE: We’ll be adding new Love Letters in the future, so check back here for updates. If you’d like to request one for a particular group, let us know.

“None of us imagined, when we signed on, that the work we would do would help prepare us for life in a pandemic. Furthermore, the personal deep dive through which we were guided during the module on Holding Space in Complexity, put us ahead of the curve as we move with great care through what feels like an extraordinary world transformation.
“If you are feeling drawn to this work without a strong sense of reason, just know that your soul is ready to move through liminal space and into the glory of an expansive new beginning.”
– Melissa Baker, Foundation Program Participant
